What Is a HECM Reverse Mortgage?
The Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) is insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) and is the most widely used reverse mortgage program in the United States. It enables homeowners aged 62 and older to convert a portion of their home equity into tax-free funds — without selling their home or taking on monthly mortgage payments.
